Work you'll do

We are seeking an experienced operations professional to support the payment control operating model across regions. This role will support daily payment control activities, apply consistent stop/review/release decisioning, and help maintain control effectiveness, auditability, and adherence to operational risk standards. The contractor will work closely with Technology, Front Office, Operations, Risk, and subject matter experts to support complex payment scenarios, strengthen control design, and contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support delivery and execution of the payment control operating model across regions
  • Execute and support daily payment control activities across AVP and BA4 teams
  • Apply consistent, timely, and risk-based decisioning across stop, review, and release processes
  • Support escalation of high-risk, complex, or ambiguous payment scenarios
  • Help maintain control effectiveness, auditability, and adherence to risk frameworks and operating standards
  • Perform root cause analysis on exceptions and erroneous payment events to help identify systemic issues and support remediation
  • Partner with Technology and SMEs to refine rule logic, thresholds, and control design
  • Produce MI and reporting covering volumes, outcomes, control performance, and key risk indicators for senior stakeholders
  • Engage with Front Office, Operations, Risk, and Technology to support end-to-end control coverage and escalate unresolved issues
  • Support the transition from manual control execution to more scalable and automated Payment Control Gateway capabilities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and strengthen control outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Global Markets Operations, payments, or post-trade environments
  • Strong understanding of payment flows, settlement lifecycle, and operational risk
  • Experience supporting operational teams in high-risk, high-volume environments
  • Ability to make risk-based decisions under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a focus on root cause resolution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in payment control, transaction monitoring, or risk/control frameworks
  • Knowledge of FX, derivatives, collateral, or financing products
  • Experience with rule-based and AI/ML control environments
  • Strong stakeholder management across Operations, Technology, and Front Office
  • Experience supporting operational transformation and automation initiatives

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $70 - $75 per hour will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
