The Banking Operations Contractor supports the Deloitte project team by contributing expertise in banking operations, financial crime investigations, and risk management. This role focuses on investigative support, process improvement, and compliance-related activities in a collaborative environment.

Roles and Responsibilities 

1. Investigations and Risk Assessment

  • Support investigations involving correspondent banking, trade finance, and cross-border transactions.
  • Analyze layered transactions, shell companies, and emerging money laundering typologies.
  • Handle escalated cases using advanced investigative techniques and cross-jurisdictional coordination.
  • Evaluate complex risk scenarios and support escalation decisions.
  • Review investigation conclusions prepared by junior analysts and provide input on complex cases.

2. Program Improvement and Quality Oversight

  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and help strengthen investigative practices.
  • Support the design and optimization of transaction monitoring scenarios and investigation workflows.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve detection capabilities, reduce false positives, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify emerging typologies and recommend enhancements to the financial crime framework.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and remediation efforts.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration and Banking Operations Support

  • Work with Compliance, Legal, Operations, Risk, and Business teams on complex matters requiring cross-functional coordination.
  • Communicate investigative findings and risk assessments to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of banking operations strategies and processes.
  • Analyze banking operations data to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support automation and process improvement efforts through technology-enabled solutions.
  • Provide training and guidance on banking operations best practices.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs to identify areas for improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial crime compliance and investigations.
  • Experience in AML/BSA compliance and regulatory oversight in a banking environment.
  • Experience in complex financial crime investigations, including money laundering, fraud, and sanctions violations.
  • Experience in correspondent banking due diligence, monitoring, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in transaction monitoring alert investigations and SAR/STR filing decisions.
  • Strong ability to manage high-complexity cases independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of contributing to process optimization and strategic initiatives.

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $50 - $55 per hour will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
