We are seeking a Banking Operations Contractor to support the project team with day-to-day banking operations, with a focus on margin and collateral processes, middle office, settlement, and change delivery support. The role requires strong operational discipline, analytical skills, and experience working in a controlled banking environment. The ideal candidate will help ensure processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day margin and collateral operations, including margin calculation, reconciliation, and collateral movements, in accordance with defined procedures and controls.
- Validate outputs in core margin platforms to ensure completeness and accuracy of margin calls.
- Investigate breaks, exceptions, and variances, and escalate issues when thresholds or tolerances are exceeded.
- Support dispute management through timely analysis, counterparty coordination, and clear documentation of outcomes.
- Maintain control execution standards by evidencing key controls and supporting audit and assurance reviews.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies, control gaps, and recurring issues, and recommending practical enhancements.
- Support change initiatives through user acceptance testing (UAT), data validation, and process documentation.
- Produce accurate and timely management information (MI), highlighting key risks, exceptions, and operational trends.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Business, Risk, Technology, and Ops Risk to resolve issues and support service delivery.
- Provide input on banking operations strategies, process optimization, and automation opportunities.
- Assist with training and guidance on operational best practices and procedures as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in collateral management, margin processing, middle office, settlement, or post-trade operations within a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of margin methodologies, collateral flows, and associated operational risks.
- Experience working in change management, business analysis, or project management within a Markets Operations setting.
- Ability to interpret and apply procedures, controls, and escalation protocols consistently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate breaks and reconcile data across multiple systems.
- Proficiency with large datasets and tools such as Excel or similar analytical applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain issues, outcomes, and recommendations.
- Awareness of control frameworks and the importance of accurate execution, documentation, and evidence preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, controlled, and time-sensitive environment with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with core margin platforms.
- Familiarity with audit interaction, assurance reviews, and evidence preparation.
- Exposure to automation, data tooling, or process improvement initiatives.
- Awareness of emerging data and AI-enabled tools that support operational efficiency.
The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $60 - $65 per hour will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
