Position Summary

As a Data Analytics Contractor, you will provide analytical services to support business decisions through data interpretation, reporting, and visualization. This role focuses on collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets; developing dashboards, metrics, and data models; and delivering insights that align to business and project needs. The contractor will work with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into analytical outputs and support data quality, consistency, and usability.

Work you'll do

The service you will provide the Deloitte project team as a Data Analytics Contractor will include:

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights for business and project teams
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, semantic layers, and data visualizations used for decision support
  • Translate business questions into metrics, instrumentation requirements, and data models aligned to analytical objectives
  • Support data pipeline, modeling, and reporting workflows in collaboration with analytics and engineering teams
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to support data accuracy, integrity, and consistency

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying analytical data products
  • 3+ years of experience developing data products and visualizations across multiple lines of business
  • Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) and Scala
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow
  • Experience with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, star schema design, and metric standardization
  • Ability to travel 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Cupertino, CA area 3 days per week.

Preferred:

  • Experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines in a production environment
  • Experience with version control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Experience with lakehouse and analytics technologies including Apache Iceberg, Trino, and Superset
  • Experience investigating data issues and producing analytical recommendations
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), recommendation systems, feature engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or AI-enabled data products

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $60 - $70 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
