Work you'll do

As a Database Administrator Contractor supporting the Deloitte project team, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing critical database environments. Your expertise will ensure system reliability, data security, and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement across database operations.

The services You will provide the Deloitte project team-As a Database Administrator Contractor, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day administration of databases including activities such as installations, migrations, deployments, service requests, and patching/upgrades.
  • Enforce established best practices in database modeling, including design, indexing strategies, and SQL coding. Assists the development organization with assistance in following standards.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis.
  • Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use, and physical implementations of databases; Address a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance, conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications.
  • Represent the database team in troubleshooting calls and war room efforts.
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and ensuring compliance with database environment.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
  • Perform daily system health checks and reports results to ensure overall environment health.
  • Design and develops processes to ensure that database backups are completed and verified on a regular basis, providing the ability to reliably restore databases for critical firm applications.
  • Assist in the resolution of technology end user incidents, service requests, or other issues related to the database.
  • Conduct research to evaluate ancillary systems for continuous improvement in team processes and capabilities. Creates proof of concept environments, performs evaluations, presents findings, and makes recommendations for procurement. On, documentation, and testing.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in database administration, including the applicable DBMS (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with cloud-based hosting environments, especially Azure, AWS, or Google.
  • Advanced knowledge in enterprise database monitoring and backup/recovery tools
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Windows and/or Unix-based operating systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows client operating systems.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Little to no travel involved

Preferred:Experience with multiple database management products, including cloud-based PaaS systems


The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $70-$75 per hour.  The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
