Work You’ll Do
The services You will provide the Deloitte project team: As an EDA Tool Management Specialist, you will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools in the design environment. This role will be critical in ensuring smooth design workflows, maximizing design efficiency, and driving innovation by staying current with the latest EDA technologies both on-prem and the cloud.
Responsibilities:
Tool Administration:
• Manage the lifecycle of EDA tools, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and license management on-prem and the cloud environment
• Build comprehensive design environment in cloud with secure and scalable architecture, job scheduling and queue management
• Monitor tool performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance optimization strategies
• Maintain a robust tool infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and backup procedures
• Manage the EDA license requests, installation and license forecast as well as EDA tool installation and maintenance
• Work with client and CSP infrastructure teams on compute grid, storage management and job scheduling architecture, efficiency and maintenance
• Work with client internal infrastructure team on adapting EDA infrastructure to Chip design styles (e.g., Digital, Analog-Mixed Signal, RF, ASICs, FPGAs etc.) and simulation solutions, script management, data management and reporting
• Work with engineering team to enable RTL2GDS flow and support
• Physical Design implementation flow development and support
• Train cloud deployments on complexities and management of EDA tool
Workflow Development:
• Collaborate with client design teams to setup and maintain efficient EDA tool flows, integrating various design stages (synthesis, placement, routing, verification, etc.).
• Create and document standard design methodologies and best practices for tool usage and enabling tool deployment teams
• Develop custom scripts and automation to streamline repetitive tasks and improve design efficiency.
Technical Support:
• Provide technical support to engineers on EDA tool usage, queue management, troubleshooting issues, and resolving access related challenges
• Conduct training sessions on new tool features and updates to enhance user proficiency.
Vendor Management:
• Evaluate and install EDA tools, design collaterals and maintain infrastructure
• Manage license servers, understand agreements and optimize license usage with EDA vendors and manage vendor relationships
• Collaborate with vendors on tool installation and enhancements
Qualifications 6-9 years of industry experience as described below:
Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of EDA toolsets including synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, formal verification, and circuit simulation tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens preferred).
• Experience with scripting languages like TCL, Perl, or Python for automation.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with EDA tool management on On-Prem and Cloud (AWS or Azure or GCP) design environment
Design Expertise:
• Solid understanding of integrated circuit (IC) design principles, including logic design, physical design, and timing analysis.
• Experience with various design methodologies and technology nodes.
Communication and Collaboration:
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including client, CSP stakeholder and other project managers.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and provide technical support to non-expert users.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant industry experience is a must
The expected pay range for this contract assignment is 80-90 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
