Work you'll do

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer Contractor, you will actively engage in hands-on development across multiple high-visibility initiatives, delivering secure, scalable solutions that delight users and drive measurable business value for Deloitte. You will apply strong engineering craftsmanship across modern languages and frameworks, partner closely with cross-functional teams, and consistently deliver high-quality, outcome-focused software through the full SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive accountability for customer and business outcomes by delivering solutions to complex problems using high-quality, lean designs and implementations
  • Serve as a technical advocate for product engineering by ensuring code integrity, technical feasibility, and alignment with customer needs and business goals
  • Perform end-to-end engineering work including requirements analysis, component design, development, unit testing, integration, deployment support, and production troubleshooting
  • Maintain accountability for code design and implementation quality, data integrity, and ongoing maintenance/operations; continuously reduce technical debt and improve reliability
  • Create technical specifications and produce high-quality, supportable, scalable code while meeting or exceeding defined quality KPIs
  • Use rapid, low-cost experimentation to validate approaches and solve customer needs; engage with customers and product teams before, during, and after delivery to ensure the right solution at the right time
  • Favor action and evidence over heavy upfront planning; deliver maintainable solutions while navigating ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Collaborate with product management, experience, delivery, infrastructure, and security partners to integrate diverse perspectives and balance feasibility, viability, usability, and value
  • Apply modern engineering practices including Agile and DevSecOps to enable frequent automated deployments from code check-in to production with built-in quality checks across the SDLC
  • Quickly build domain knowledge and translate business needs, architecture, and UX/UI designs into technical specifications and working software
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly; contribute to evidence-based trade-offs and narratives tied to business outcomes
  • Build constructive working relationships across engineering and product teams (and with customers as needed), supporting co-creation, alignment, and shared momentum toward product goals

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred but not required; experience considered)
  • Strong software engineering foundation (OOP, data structures, algorithms, instrumentation, and clean/maintainable coding practices)
  • 5+ years of experience with most of the following: Angular, React, Node.js, Python, C#, .NET Core, Java, Go, SQL/NoSQL
  • 5+ years of cloud-native engineering experience on Azure (and/or other hyperscalers) using FaaS/PaaS/microservices architectures
  • Strong understanding of engineering methodologies and tools (XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, SRE, Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube) to deliver high-quality products rapidly
  • Experience with AI/ML and GenAI strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to handle complex projects and shifting priorities with empathy, ownership, and professionalism

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $ 100 - $ 110 per hour. The exact pay rate    will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
