Work you'll do

As an Industry Subject Matter Expert (SME) Contractor, you will leverage your specialized knowledge to provide insights and expertise that support Deloitte project objectives and client needs in the areas of sustainability, energy transition, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). You will contribute in driving impactful change for our clients, elevating corporate performance and guiding them through the evolving landscape of sustainability and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage specialized industry knowledge to provide actionable insights and support Deloitte project objectives and client needs.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities in sustainability, ESG, and energy transition.
  • Contribute in deveoping detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to both internal teams and clients.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to integrate industry best practices, ESG principles, and sustainability approaches into project deliverables.
  • Assist in designing and executing strategic plans and solutions tailored to address client-specific sustainability and ESG priorities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during client meetings and workshops, addressing regulatory, technical, and market-related queries.
  • Contributing in driving enterprise sustainability and ESG strategies, embedding these into corporate strategy to elevate performance.
  • Support in guiding commercialization of low-carbon solutions (e.g., CCS, lithium, geothermal, hydrogen, renewables).
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders including board members, C-suite, investors, regulators, and communities to align around sustainability goals.
  • Ensure compliance with major regulatory and reporting frameworks (SEC, CSRD, TCFD, SASB, GRI, SBTi) and support accurate disclosure and reporting.

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $240- $250 per hour.  The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
