As a Contractor, the service you'll provide to the Deloitte project team as a negotiator, is the opportunity to negotiate a broad variety of trading and regulatory documentation.  You will support the project by ensuring robust, accurate, and timely documentation, directly impacting the success of our client relationships and business operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Engage with a wide range of counterparties including banks, mutual, pension and hedge funds, corporations and insurance companies. Execute upon an established client playbook guiding the process of drafting, reviewing and third party outreach for the purposes of establishing a contract.
  • Ensure the optimum balance of risk in line with the policies/standards of the bank.
  • Work with clients and their lawyers as directed by the Project Team, through occasional conference calls and meetings in addition to electronic communication.
  • Work with internal stakeholders in credit legal, risk management and sales departments regarding terms in the documents.

This contract maybe eligible for a hybrid work status depending on client needs and overall level of experience.   

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or JD, with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in a legal/trading documentation role (including within Credit, Risk, or Treasury functions) or as an Attorney or Paralegal in a law firm.

• Strong experience negotiating Reg IM documentation (bilaterals, ACAs, ECS).  If Reg IM experience is limited, must have at least 8–10 years’ experience negotiating new ISDA Master Agreements and VM CSAs with top banks or high-profile funds.

• Solid knowledge of UMR (Uncleared Margin Rules) Phase 6 and/or 7 and hands-on experience with Initial Margin documentation.

• Experience with repurchase, securities lending, or prime services documentation is a plus.

• Knowledge of various legal entities, including funds, insurance companies, and pensions.

• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills, especially under pressure.

• Proven ability to negotiate and review complex legal documents with accuracy.

• Commercial acumen and keen interest in derivatives, commodities, repo, securities lending, and/or prime brokerage products and services.

• Ability to influence stakeholders, negotiate, build consensus, and improve operational efficiency. Proficiency in IT and adaptability to various databases/systems.

• Additional language skills (French, German, Italian, or Spanish) are a plus.

• Enthusiasm for the Negotiation process.

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $75 to $85 per hour.  The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
